I only have time for a quick post. We leave this morning for a 16-day trip to Shanghai and Korea. Aldus proved himself to be an EXCELLENT traveler on previous trips, but it still doesn't mean I'm looking forward to 11-hour flights. You can bet we stocked up on some new books and finger puppets to try and keep him occupied during the waking hours, which I hope are few. We also upgraded our Amsterdam to Shanghai leg to "World Business Class" (woot!). Wish us luck that we don't need to pass out any of our new earplugs to other passengers.

Patient Voices: Infertility

I stumbled upon this series of audio commentaries on the New York Times today. If you have 10 minutes, it's definitely worth a listen. I found myself nodding along in agreement with the things that every.single.one. of these women talked about - about how discovering you're infertile is a process, how the choice with how to proceed (infertility treatments, adoption, living childless or childfree) is different and unique for every couple, how being "infertile" (or subfertile, or identifying as infertile) doesn't go away once you have a child...everything! I hope you'll give it a listen.

Charles and I disagree about the most recent episode of Galactica. I've been waiting for that ending for at least two seasons. I only wish that they hadn't gone all "Scrooge McRoslin is visited by the priest of Galactica Yet to Come" to make it happen. Charles is disgusted by all of it.

This much is true: I love me some cuddly Bill Adama.
