Family portrait

When Aldus was born, we forgot to ask someone to take a photo of the three of us together. Until Charles's parents visited, we only had photos of Aldus by himself or with each of us individually.

We were fortunate that the midwives attending Torsten's birth immediately volunteered to take a photo of the three of us, and my parents took a photo of all four of us during their recent visit.

Daily Aldus: Kröller-Müller Museum (4)

It was about this time that Aldus needed to take a nap.

Oops! He faceplanted in the mud.

You'll have to forgive how out-of-focus this photo is. I was trying not to shake the camera too much while I laughed. Yes, I'm accepting nominations for Mom of the Year.

Daily Aldus: Kröller-Müller Museum (1)

We had a nice little visit to the Kröller-Müller Museum a couple weeks ago. Aldus certainly enjoyed himself!

Daily Aldus: balloons

We went to a friend's wedding last weekend and Aldus has LOTS of fun playing with helium-filled balloons at the reception!

Daily Aldus: "Chick Magnet"

I like to believe that, like his love for vegetables, he gets his sense of "style" from his father.

Daily Aldus: Let the sun shine!

IMG_6552
The weather was pretty poor for most of August - at least my memory of it was. We came back from Michigan to a month of cool, rainy weather more suitable to a dreary October than August. But on this particular Sunday there was a break in the gloom, and we cycled over to the park information center in Lhee for some snacks in the sunshine.

Daily Aldus: Haircut!

Aldus has gotten a couple haircuts now at the same place Charles goes to, and he's been pretty good about it. I realize that most  parents are favorably biased about their children's behavior. I was just happy that he didn't bite and spit at the haircut lady like the 2 year-old whose hair she cut the previous day!
